The role
An opportunity exists for a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Newcastle.
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, you will:
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities for the construction business unit with both new and existing clients
- Conduct market research to build and manage pipeline of target projects
- Identify core clients and develop strategies to maximise opportunities with these businesses
- Engage with target clients to understand their pipeline, working collaboratively to achieve best outcomes for all parties
- Develop tender strategies and produce written content including methodology and program as required
- Work with estimators, construction teams and consultants to develop winning bids for submission to the client
- Representing the business at networking and industry events
About you
This role could suit someone currently working in a similar position, or, as a project manager, consultant or in a management role with strong connections to the NSW construction industry.
The ideal candidate will possess the below;
- 5 years practical experience in project delivery;
- Advanced understanding of building principles, methodologies and design;
- High level knowledge of construction contracts;
- Proven competency in negotiations with internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong commercial acumen;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated proficiency and experience in delivering quality influential presentations;
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office suite;
- Highly developed organisational, time management and prioritising skills; and
- Highly developed emotional intelligence.
